Lithium-Ion Batteries in Aviation

John Gallman, True Blue Power® division director, discusses the use of lithium-ion battery technology in aviation applications, focusing on a recent agreement between A123 Systems, Inc. and Mid-Continent Instrument Co., Inc. to make A123's technology more readily available to the aviation market. Also discussed are the advantages of A123's proprietary Nanophosphate® battery technology as compared to lead-acid and nickel-cadmium batteries.
